Reminders for the Halloween Parade Tomorrow

Event guidelines:
1.       No masks for students – we are a school community.  Being able to see each other’s faces promotes trust.
2.       No masks for adults – we need to be able to identify the adults in our building for safety purposes.
3.       No costumes with violent themes or weapons.
4.       Classroom celebrations must follow our Wellness policy guidelines for healthy treats in the classroom.  These guidelines are the same ones we use for birthday celebrations – see the early October newsletter for more information.
5.       Parents and guardians may take their child(ren) home following the event by signing their child out with the classroom teacher.
6.       Children may not wear costumes on the bus.
7.       If your child will not be participating in this event, please notify your child’s teacher.  Students who are not participating will be creating a shared snack to enjoy together.
Please remember that parking at PPS is extremely limited.  Check for “no parking” signs on side streets to avoid being ticketed.
Parade route:  As long as weather permits, I plan to have students exit their classrooms into the main hallway starting with grade 2, followed by grade 1, then Kindergarten.  Students would exit through the recess doors, parade clockwise around the woodchip area of the playground, walk near the gate to the parking lot, up onto the sidewalk next to the windows of the school and into the building through the main entrance.  Spectators would stand outside to see the children.
